I grew up on the south coast of England but came to Japan seventeen years ago with my  artist wife so that she could pursue her studies in traditional Japanese urushi.

We have lived a simple life at the foot of a small mountain, below a waterfall and next to a river in the middle of nowhere for sixteen years now. Water system and heating etc are homemade and although we have electricity TV is impossible in our location.

My wife and I are both now in what amounts to full-time education and are  trying to juggle two very modest businesses, bring up our children as well as we can  and remain as windswept and interesting as possible along the way.

I'm a self taught jack of a number of trades and master of none at present and I'm working hard to consolidate my life experiences and knowledge so that I am able to produce something of value to pass on.

I'm pretty awestruck at the general level of vibration of you good folk here and I sincerely hope I can find something worthwhile to contribute. Anyway  I'll leave it at this for the time being. Good luck in all you aspire to.
